World Indoor Championships: Two Bronze Medals for Africa

Africa secured two bronze medals in the triple jump at the 2026 World Indoor Championships in Poland. Saly Sarr of Senegal, representing AADC Dakar, delivered a major performance, finishing third in the women's final with a jump of 14.70m, in a highly competitive field dominated by Cuba's Leyanis Pérez Hernández (14.95m) and Venezuela's Yulimar Rojas (14.86m), a leading figure in the discipline.

The other African medal, also bronze, was won by Algeria's Yasser Mohammed Triki, who achieved a strong performance of 17.30m, finishing behind Italy's Andy Diaz Hernández (17.47m) and Jamaica's Jordan Scott (17.33m). The United States took first place with 5 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze medals, ahead of Great Britain (4 gold) and Italy (3 gold, 2 silver).
