On the sidelines of the 20th edition of the International Half Marathon of the ‘District Autonome
d ’Abidjan’, the CAA CEO, Mr Lamine Faty visited the residents of the Ivorian Athletics Center located at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) in Marcory, Abidjan this Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Accompanied by Jeannot Kouadio, the President of the Ivorian Athletics Federation (FIA), Mr Lamine Faty, on behalf of Mr Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, the President of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), gave wise advice to the six residents of the said center. The CAA CEO invited the athletes to discipline and work: "Discipline is respect for hierarchy and authority. You have a duty to follow the instructions of your coaches. I am very well placed to tell you this. Do not forget that you represent the image of Côte d'Ivoire and your family. You have a challenge to take up," he said before continuing: "Put yourself at the service of your nation. You have the full support of President Kalkaba Malboum. He is very happy with this project that is taking shape here in Abidjan."
He also took that opportunity to reiterate all the satisfaction of the CAA towards the Ivorian Athletics Federation and its president, Jeannot Kouadio. As for the head of Ivorian athletics, he promised a reassuring future for these athletes who are residents of the Ivorian Athletics Center managed by the former African champion, Meité Ben Youssef.
