ATHLETES 2024: Letsile Tebogo and Beatrice Chebet on top of Africa

The Confederation of African Athletics has elected the best athletes, coaches, officials, federations and leaders of the year 2024. Letsile Tebogo (Botswana) and Beatrice Chebet (Kenya) were crowned Best Male Athlete and Best Female Athlete respectively.

Best African Male Athlete: Letsile Tebogo, Botswana Olympic Champion in 200m

Second: TAMIRAT TOLA, Ethiopia Olympic Champion in the Marathon

Third: EMMANUEL WANYONI, Kenya Olympic Champion in 800m

Best African Female Athlete: BEATRICE CHEBET, Kenya Olympic Champion in the 5000m and 10000m, World record women in the 10000m

Second: RUTH CHEPNGETICH, Kenya World record women in the marathon

Third: FAITH KIPYEGON, Kenya World champion in the 1500m, World record women in the 1500m

African male rising athlete: BAYANDA WALAZA Republic of South Africa U20 world champion in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m Olympic medalist in the 4x100m

African female hopeful athlete: MADINA EISSA, Ethiopia U20 world champion in 5000m

Best African Coach: Thabo Matebedi, Republic of South Africa

Best African Official: Suren Ayadassen, Mauritius

Best African leader: Bawah Fuseini Ghana

Best African Development Federation: ATHLETICS SOUTH AFRICA

Second: FEDERATION TUNISIENNE D’ ATHLETISME
